You walk in.

Something is different.

Everyone feels it.

“I felt a shift in my sessions right away, and so did my clients. When they walked into the space, they reported feeling more grounded, settled, and ready to dive into their work.”

- Kathleen K., Psychotherapist, Ontario, Canada

Create Spaces That Change Lives.

BLLIS (pronounced ‘bliss’) - a guided interior design journey.

Science-informed. Surprisingly Simple. Making the most of what’s already there.

Are you sitting down? Here’s something you can explore right now.

How do you feel where you’re currently seated?

Varying design disciplines and philosophies often use different words to describe solutions that address the same human need. BLLIS looks for the high impact overlaps that are simple and accessible.

Feng Shui calls it “Command Position”

  • The spot in a room where you can see the door without being directly in line with it—a position that creates feelings of control and ease.

Biophilic Design calls it “Prospect & Refuge”

  • Our instinct to seek spaces where we can see what’s coming (prospect) while feeling protected from behind (refuge).

Neuroscience calls it “Peripersonal Space Monitoring”

  • Your brain’s built-in radar system that constantly tracks the area around your body, scanning for what’s approaching and what might need your attention.

Simply put: Where you sit changes how you feel.

When you can see entrances and movement around you, your brain’s monitoring system relaxes. When your back is to the door, it stays alert—scanning for what it can’t see.

BLLIS

exists to discover the shortest path to feel-good spaces.

No renovations, perfect for renters, works with any budget.

BLLIS might not be for you if:

  • You’re looking for a quick aesthetic refresh without a deeper connection to wellness

  • You want someone to just tell you what to buy

  • You’re not open to exploring the “why” behind design choices

BLLIS is for you if:

  • You sense your space could be more supportive for you (and others)

  • You’re curious to learn about the science behind feel-good spaces

  • You’re ready to co-create (not just hire someone to “fix it”)

What walking this path together looks like:

Collaborative

Through a mix of immersive online sessions and offline homework, we’ll dig into the details of your space while exploring science-informed intervention opportunities aligned with your vision.

THEN we’ll brainstorm on creative expression opportunities ensuring the voices who bring your space to life are heard and experience a sense of belonging that extends beyond that walls of the space.

PLAYFUL

BLLIS explores lessons learned from the most trusted academic, research, and service providers in order create a science-informed, health and wellness foundation to spaces setting the stage for your vision and freeing up time, resources, and energy TO HAVE MORE FUN!

Your space = your rules; if something doesn’t feel right, change it!

Resourceful

We’ll honor what you already have, reimagining and maximizing it before considering anything new. Often, what you need is already there—just waiting to be seen differently.

Results-Driven

Our spaces have the extraordinary power to reduce stress, boost business, and inspire new life trajectories YET we often sit in rooms, feeling overwhelmed, focusing on the surface stuff while losing track of what really matters. How do we feel and function within the space?

We'll get clear on what really matters from the very beginning:

  • What are the Actual experiences of your space?

  • What are the Ideal experiences of your space?

  • How will we Measure impact?

We’ll then explore opportunities specific to bridging your Actual & Ideal, leaving you with a simple and detailed action-plan aligned with your vision.

Testimonials

  • Kathleen | Ontario, Canada | Psychotherapy Practice

“I feel different. And maybe at the end of the day, that’s the most important thing actually, because in therapy my nervous system regulates their nervous system. I feel very energetically calm in the space. I like it better. I like spending time there now.”

    What Shifted:

    * Therapeutic conversations went deeper, faster

    * Practice enrollment increased by 30% within weeks following space changes

    * In-person attendance increased by 20% (50% to 60% in-person sessions)

  • Ana | Lisbon, Portugal | Family Home

I needed a change but felt stuck and unable to change the flow of the room. Did not know where to begin, felt overwhelmed, and lacked the energy for the task.

Lyndsay helped us realize what was wrong, introduced new concepts, and showed us the importance of bringing nature inside, the power of light, and the tiny details that have a huge impact on our daily lives. It took a while to absorb the concept, but then it all made sense, the flow started, and the changes were finally happening. The room now feels better organized, we all got our own private spaces within the same room (even the cats!)”

    What Opened:

    * Space utilization increased ~50%

    * Every family member (and pet) found their place

    * Overwhelm transformed into possibility… Ana even got a promotion a year later (after wanting to take time off work due to pre-transformation stress levels)

  • Abby | Ohio, United States | Home Sanctuary

I remember starting this project with you, initially feeling a sense of defeat in this tiny, one-bedroom apartment of mine. I was not aware that the clutter in my space was wafting an air of stress. I told myself the clutter was "functional," when it actually made me dread entering the kitchen where I need to work the most. I dreaded the dining room too, which is where I wanted to work on multiple creative projects but just couldn't bring myself to spend time in the room. The reality is, it was a dysfunctional space. I was resigned to the idea that this is the nature of small apartments: Essence of claustrophobia. You showed me I was wrong.

    What Emerged:

    * Free time shifted from Netflix escape to “soul-inspiring” activities and actions towards life’s next steps

    * Dread transformed into desire to be home

    * Small space revealed its hidden physical and emotional spaciousness

About

At the heart of BLLIS is the conviction that spaces can profoundly change people. I’ve seen it. I’ve experienced it. And I’ve created BLLIS to explore it.

I had an “aha” moment eight years ago.

I was collaborating on designing spaces that brought out the best in everyone else—an 18,000 square foot corporate headquarters, 2,200 learning centers impacting over half a million students and families—while my own home no longer brought out the best in me.

Investment & Process:

BLLIS distills everything I've learned (and continue to learn) into one question: What's the shortest path to a space that serves you?

  • No. We maximize what you already have before considering anything new. Most transformations happen through rearrangement, intentional placement, and small additions (if any).

  • Traditional designers focus on aesthetics and often require budgets for furniture and renovations. BLLIS focuses on education and transformation—teaching you why changes work (backed by neuroscience, biophilic design, and ancient wisdom) so you can continue optimizing your space long after we work together.

  • Perfect. Most BLLIS interventions are temporary and portable—furniture placement, lighting adjustments, nature integration. Your landlord won’t even notice.

  • While partnerships will vary in scope and timing, a typical journey takes place within 5 online sessions (60-90 minutes each) over 6-8 weeks, plus offline homework between sessions (1-2 hours/week). Total time investment: ~15-20 hours to change how you experience your space every single day.

  • Completely. That overwhelm is often a sign your space needs attention. The BLLIS process is designed to reduce overwhelm by breaking transformation into clear, manageable steps. Many clients say the clarity alone is worth it.

  • Absolutely! BLLIS is interested in exploring the possibilities within all spaces. And if the project is out of BLLIS’s realm, we will do our best to recommend someone who can help.
